Greens for Dinner

My husband and I truly enjoy watching the bluebirds gather insects and fly home to feed the anxiously waiting young. The bluebird’s feathers can just glow in the sunlight. It’s amazing to see how the blue color can change depending on the time of day or angle of the sun. Captured here with some tasty morsels for the young is a male bluebird. This particular home is located in a tree cavity probably hollowed out by a woodpecker.

Hand painted cotton and silk fabrics. Machine appliquéd, and stitched.
