Inspired by the story of my grandparents, this piece depicts a loving couple and their struggle through cancer and death. Moving from left to right along the bench (meant to represent life) the viewer can see the dark times from when they first learned of her cancer and her death soon after. Separated by time, the husband takes comfort in memories of their life together and finally comes to be at peace.
